Leasburg Dam State Park offers year-round camping, picnicking and bird watching. From about mid-March through mid-October, the park also offers fishing, canoeing and kayaking in the Rio Grande. The dam channels water from the Rio Grande for irrigation in the Mesilla Valley. Nearby Fort Selden State Monument has a museum and trails at the site of a 19th century army outpost.

July 10 Great value! by Tales From the Mutiny
park review stars; one to five We originally were just going to spend 2 nights here passing through but found the park and area so beautiful that we ended up staying 10 days. We stayed in both the reserved section and the first-come-first-serve and had wifi at both sites. On-site manager was very friendly and the park staff was helpful with changing our paperwork when we wanted to stay longer. Beautiful area and great hike down to the river. I would definitely stay here again. (We stayed here in a Class A 32 foot MH in January 2013).
April 12 Nicely Kept State Park by Cheyenne
park review stars; one to five Nice Facilities. Well kept, with a small ranger office on site. Electric and water, with plently of hiking. Beautiful area. Just in the outskirts of Las Cruces.
