Picnicking
Caballo Lake State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables and grills, some shaded. Day-use fees apply for picnicking.
Bicycling
Biking enthusiasts can explore several trails, though caution is advised due to the rugged terrain. Helmets are strongly recommended.

The park offers a variety of routes suitable for different skill levels; always choose wisely based on your experience.

Mountain biking in particular poses challenges with steep inclines and rocky paths - not advisable for beginners or those unprepared.

Ensure you have adequate water supplies as temperatures can soar during summer months making dehydration a real risk.

Night-time cycling isn't suggested because wildlife activity increases after dark and visibility decreases significantly.

Remember that cyclists must share pathways with hikers so be respectful when passing others on narrow tracks.
