Sequoyah Bay State Park is a paradise for water sports and camping along the 225-mile shoreline of Fort Gibson Lake near Wagoner. Enjoy a variety of water sports on the lake's 19,100 surface acres as you create memories for a lifetime with a stay at Sequoyah Bay State Park. Camping opportunities abound with RV sites with water and 30-amp or 50-amp electric hookups and two dump stations. Tent sites are located throughout the park. All RV and tent campsites must be reserved online.

The full-service Cypress Cove Marina offers gas, food, ice, bait, tackle, boat rentals, slips, fishing dock and cabin rentals.
History of the Area
Located in Oklahoma, this park was established in 1955. Named after Sequoyah, a Cherokee scholar who developed the written language of his tribe. The area covers over 303 acres and is known for its recreational activities such as camping, fishing and boating on Fort Gibson Lake's shoreline. It also offers cabins to rent year-round with modern amenities.

Swimming
1. Sequoyah Bay State Park offers two designated swimming areas for visitors.
2. The park's beaches are sandy and well-maintained, ideal for sunbathing or building sandcastles.
3. Lifeguards aren't available at the swim sites; swimmers should exercise caution when in water.
4. Swimming is also allowed off boats on Fort Gibson Lake within safety guidelines set by the park authorities.
5. No diving boards or slides are provided but natural shallow waters make it safe for kids to play around safely.

Boating
The park offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There are two marinas and numerous boat ramps available, providing easy access to the water. Both motorized boats and non-motorized vessels like canoes or kayaks are allowed in designated areas within the park's waters. Boat rentals including pontoons, fishing boats, paddle boards and jet skis are also offered by local vendors around the area.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a park located on the shores of Fort Gibson Lake. Fish species include largemouth bass, catfish and crappie. There are also options for shoreline or boat fishing with several ramps available. Fishing tournaments often take place here too.

Picnicking
The shelters must be reserved and paid for through the Sequoyah State Park office.
Bicycling
In this park in Oklahoma, biking options are available but require caution due to varying terrain and trail conditions. The area offers several miles of trails suitable for mountain bikes. However, these paths can be challenging with steep inclines and rocky surfaces.

Cyclists should wear appropriate safety gear including helmets while riding on the bike trails here. Also note that some areas may not have clear signage so it's important to stay alert.

During certain seasons or after heavy rainfalls, parts of the tracks might become muddy making cycling difficult or even dangerous at times.

Remember also that wildlife is common within the park boundaries; cyclists must remain vigilant especially during dawn and dusk when animals tend to be more active.

Lastly, always respect other users by maintaining a safe speed limit as hiking enthusiasts share many sections of these routes too.
Trails
1. Lakeshore Trail: This is a 2-mile trail that runs along the shoreline of Fort Gibson Lake, offering beautiful views of the water and surrounding landscape.

2. Deer Run Nature Trail: A short but scenic half mile loop through dense forested areas; it's perfect for spotting local wildlife like deer or birds.

3. Sequoyah Bay Loop: At approximately 4 miles in length, this trail takes hikers around much of the park's bay area with opportunities to see various bird species and aquatic life.

4. Bluebird Cove Walking Path: An easy one-third mile path ideal for families with young children or those seeking a leisurely stroll amidst nature; offers great sightings of bluebirds during certain seasons.

5. Osage Prairie RV Park Trails: These are several small trails totaling about two miles within an adjacent campground which provide pleasant walks among trees and grasslands.

6. Campground Loops: Not officially marked as hiking trails, these loops offer additional walking options throughout different campgrounds across Sequoyah Bay State Park - lengths vary depending on chosen route.

7. Picnic Area Paths: Short paths connecting picnic spots scattered throughout the park providing visitors quick access from their parked vehicles - distances range between few hundred yards up to quarter-mile long sections each way.
Birding
The park offers birding opportunities with over 200 species, including waterfowl and songbirds. Birdwatchers can explore various trails or the shoreline for sightings.
