Located in the geographic center of Utah, five miles south of Manti, Palisade State Park rests at an elevation of 5,868 feet and is nestled in a beautiful valley of Sanpete County. Its picturesque surroundings add a relaxing dimension to any activity.

Golf 18-holes, paddle or troll on Palisade Lake, then set up the perfect campsite. This park offers something for everyone, from its desert canyon golf course, RV and tent camping, to access for off-highway vehicle riding in nearby Six-Mile Canyon.

Camp, fish, swim, golf, hike, paddle and boat electric motors only at Palisade State Park. Winter activities nclude ice fishing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and an occasional off-season golf tournament.

Pitch a tent or pull an RV into one of 55 campsites, with nine full hook-up sites. One day-use and two overnight group areas are available for family reunions and other gatherings. Modern restrooms with hot water showers, culinary water, and sewage disposal station also are available.

Hike, hunt in season, or ride off-highway vehicles in nearby Six-Mile Canyon, which provides access to Skyline Drive - a 10,000-foot-high road along the crest of the spectacular Wasatch Plateau.
History of the Area
Funk's Lake was created in 1873 by enterprising pioneer Daniel B. Funk, who wanted surrounding settlers to have a place to relax and recreate. At that time the valley was owned by a small group of Sanpitch Indians led by Chief Arapeen. Mr. Funk bargained with the chief and obtained a land patent from the government. He then set about the arduous task of building an earthen dam and diverting part of Six-Mile Creek to fill the lake. The lake quickly became a well-known pleasure resort, now called Palisade.
Camping
Camp only in designated areas. Tents are allowed in Arapeen and Sanpitch campgrounds, but may need to be moved for watering and mowing. Each permit covers one vehicle and any attached recreation equipment. If space permits, one extra vehicle is allowed in a campsite for an additional fee. Up to eight people are allowed in one campsite.
Swimming
1. Palisade State Park offers a large reservoir for swimming.
2. The park's sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing before or after a swim.
3. Lifeguards are not on duty, so swimmers should exercise caution and supervise children closely.
4. Swimming areas are clearly marked to ensure safety of all visitors in the water.
5. Inflatable toys and floats can be used within designated swimming zones only.

6. The lake's clear waters offer good visibility making it safe even for novice swimmers.

7. Water temperatures during summer months range from 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit, ideal conditions for recreational swimming activities.

8. Swimming at night isn't allowed due to lack of lighting around the area; daytime swims recommended instead.

Boating
Palisade Lake is restricted to boats with electric trolling motors and nonmotorized boats only. Vessels with motors must be registered. Utah law requires all boat operators to have one life jacket of proper size and condition, readily accessible for each person on board. All boaters 12 or younger must wear a life jacket.
Fishing
Enjoy fishing in a serene environment with options for shore or boat angling. The lake is stocked regularly, offering Rainbow Trout and Tiger Muskie opportunities. Ice fishing is also available during winter months.

Picnicking
1. Palisade State Park offers numerous picnic areas with tables and grills.
2. Picnic spots are located near the lake for scenic views.
3. Some sites have covered pavilions, perfect for larger gatherings.
4. You can rent a group pavilion in advance online or by phone call.
5. Enjoy picnicking while watching wildlife like deer and birds around you.

Bicycling
In this Utah location, biking enthusiasts can enjoy a 1.5-mile trail around the serene reservoir area.

The park's terrain is relatively flat and easy to navigate for beginners or casual riders.

More experienced cyclists might find it less challenging but still enjoyable due to its picturesque surroundings.

Mountain bikers should be aware that there are no dedicated trails specifically designed for their sport here.

While cycling in winter months, caution must be exercised as paths may become icy and slippery.

Remember always wear appropriate safety gear while riding within these grounds.

Please note: motorized bikes are not permitted on any of the trails inside this recreational site.
