Wooster Mountain State Park, located in Danbury, Connecticut is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It features rugged terrain ideal for hiking and an established shooting range. Located in Danbury, Connecticut, the park was established in 1920. It's named after General David Wooster of Revolutionary War fame. The area is known for its rugged terrain and scenic views.
In the mid-20th century, it became a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts due to hunting opportunities and hiking trails. A shooting range was added later which attracts sportsmen from across New England.
The state acquired additional land over time expanding the park's size significantly by late 1970s.
Today it remains an important recreational site with activities like fishing also gaining popularity among visitors besides traditional attractions such as hiking or bird watching.
