Cabins
Springbrook's six rustic family cabins provide great opportunities for an economical getaway. Available for weekly rental, the cabins will accommodate up to four people. They are equipped with refrigerators, stoves, water and flush toilets. Cabin users must provide their own bedding, towels, dishes and other camping items. Hot water is not available, however, showers are located in the campground. The cabins can be reserved for a fee through the Internet at www.reserveiaparks.com or by calling toll-free 1-877-IAPARKS.
Camping
The large campground has 118 campsites (81 with electrical hook-ups). Modern showers and restrooms, a trailer dump station, fireplaces and tables are available. Starting February 13, 2006 advance campsite reservations can be booked through the park reservation system. Half of the campsites are still available for self-registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Trails
Great hiking trails totally 12 miles lead to the heart of Springbrook. You are almost guaranteed to see deer when taking an evening or morning stroll on the nature trail which winds around the lake. In winter, snowmobiling is allowed on four miles of designated trails.

The Central Iowa State Park Bike Route is a 160-mile loop connecting Big Creek, Ledges and Springbrook primarily utilizing paved county highways and the paved Raccoon Bicycle Trail. Riders may choose to ride the entire bike route only a portion of it. The route ambles through 14 charming towns, is relatively flat, with a few challenging hills as you make your way across the picturesque valleys of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers.

Carry your own gear and "rough it" in the campgrounds or take comfort in a local bed and breakfast or motel along the route. Some bed and breakfasts and park concessionaires offer a shuttle service for gear or luggage for a nominal fee. Reservations for gear shuttle must be made in advance. Detailed route brochures available from the DNR.

August 25 State Park Beauty! by Kelly U.
park review stars; one to five Between big, old shade trees to help keep you cool and the camping area located down in a protected valley, the only thing that would make this Park better is a cold spring-fed creek. Oh wait, it has that too! Awesome place!!!!!!!!!
July 28 Beautiful by lamousey
park review stars; one to five Beautiful park! Will camp there again for the hiking but the swimming not so much lake very dirty-that is the only thing that disappointed us! The park itself very clean and lots of shade-the playground could use some more shade!
