Hamlin Beach State Park's clear water, sandy beaches and 264 tent and trailer campsites bring thousands of visitors to the park each year. The environmental education center in the Yanty Creek Marsh area at the east end of the park has a mile long self-guided nature trail. In addition, there are 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails. Visitors can launch car-top boats, fish for salmon and trout and enjoy the picnic facilities. The most prominent feature of the park is the bluff area at the west end known as Devil's Nose. Because of dangerous conditions, it is a restricted area, but it remains a landmark for sailors as they pass to the north.

Boating
The park, located in New York, offers a variety of boating options for visitors. There is a boat launch available which allows guests to bring their own watercrafts such as kayaks or canoes and explore the waters at their leisure. However, there are no rental services within the park itself so all equipment must be brought by individuals themselves. The clear waters provide an excellent opportunity for fishing too but it's important to note that motorized boats aren't allowed due to environmental regulations.

Picnicking
Hamlin Beach State Park offers picnic tables, grills for BBQs and pavilions that can be reserved. Alcohol is prohibited.
Bicycling
Biking is a popular activity with several trails available. However, cyclists should be aware of varying terrain and conditions.

The park offers both paved and unpaved paths suitable for different skill levels. Always wear helmets while riding.

One can explore the 1-mile long self-guided nature trail on bike but proceed slowly due to pedestrians sharing this path.

For those seeking more adventure, there are off-road biking options too; however, these require advanced skills due to rougher terrains.

Remember that some areas may not permit cycling so always check signage before proceeding or consult with park officials if unsure.

In peak season when visitor numbers surge, extra caution must be exercised as pathways become crowded making collisions likelier.

Lastly remember: safety first! Enjoy your ride responsibly without endangering yourself or others around you in any way possible.
Birding
The park offers diverse birding opportunities with over 250 species recorded, including waterfowl and migrating raptors. Birdwatchers can explore various habitats such as woodlands, wetlands, and the Lake Ontario shoreline. The Yanty Creek Marsh area is particularly popular for spotting herons, egrets and other marsh birds.

Visitor Comments, Memories and Reviews
April 8 The year 1952---1954 by Jim Kuhns
park review stars; one to five As a very young boy we lived on Redmond road in a farm house probably no more than a mile from the park. I remember I could look up the road and see the park. Of coarse this was long before any road work had been done. Tried to locate the two story house which was located on the west side of Redmond by going to goggle earth, but the house is gone. I am 67 now and it seems like a dream now.
August 16 The musical entertainment is delightful!
park review stars; one to five The combination of a warm summer night, a beautiful sunset on the beach and good music. There is no better way to spend a summer evening. Its free too!
